Alaska ThunderFunk (A.T.F.) hails from Anchorage , Alaska . Their sound blends riff rock, funk, and the jam with tight arrangements and cleverly delivered raps, hooks and choruses. Sandman (J.T.) and Ginsu (Mykaiel) play with the audience like old friends hitting them with slick spits and then cajoling call and response choruses out of the most jaded audience member. The band is an experienced rock trio that delivers the goods. Huge riffs and breakdowns are carved out and then sliced apart then seasoned with blazing solos provided by the three chefs Scott Feris (the Machine) on guitar, Scott Gephardt (the Hitman) on bass and Dana Wright (FaceMan) on drums.
A.T.F. has been making fans all over Alaska for the past 6 years. In 2010 they released their first full length self titled album. Stand out tracks like “Take My Keys” and “Dirty Martini” have enjoyed radio play on KRUA, KZND, and KWHL.
A.T.F. has opened for many name acts: Snoop Dog, Tech Nine, Scarface and Red Man and Method Man are just some of the performance opportunities A.T.F. has been given in AK.
The Summer Northwest Tour of 2011 saw A.T.F. taking their show on the road outside of Alaska for the first time. Many of the tracks of their upcoming release where recorded on this tour at Wax Poetic Studios on Bainbridge Island . All other tracks recorded at Broken records Studio in Muldoon.
Currently Alaska ThunderFunk is about to release their 2nd full length album “Perma Flows” which is expected to be released on Broken Records March 2012.
A.T.F is planning a 2nd tour through the Northwest and into California.
You can see A.T.F. in Seattle, Portland, Boise and San Diego in April 2012.
